Collect-Hit© 2011 – The 11^th edition of the great meeting of European collectors in Brussels – Sunday October 2^nd 2011.

Collect-Hit©, the international Collectors’ Fair in Brussels, organises its eleventh edition in Brussels kart Expo, 3 minutes away from the Basilica of Koekelberg.

Each year, on the first Sunday of October, Collect-Hit’s reputation for quality attracts a great number of collectors of old toys to the outskirts of Brussels, in Groot-Bijgaarden.

You’ll find 19th and 20th Century toys on the 600 tables and 5,200 square meters of the indoor exhibition hall. The exhibitors (250 in total) and the visitors (in their thousands) come to this great annual meeting from all over Europe, or even from the United States and Japan.

It’s a joy for the visitors to admire the model trains and cars or haggle over toy soldiers, old celluloid or china dolls, the teddy bears of the ‘Nostalgic Collection’ section. Original strips and comic books, 9^th art merchandising by-products, American comic books or more recent Japanese mangas also on offer in the ‘B.D. – Comix/T.V. –Series’ section.

Being probably the best symbol of the toys dating from the 2^nd part of the 20th century, a famous doll and its accessories still stir the passion of the collectors looking for rare items in the Barbie® in Brussels’ section.

This year, Collect-Hit put a new feather in its cap thanks to the brand new section called ‘FotografixÓ’, catering to amateurs as well as seasoned collectors with items from the world of pre-cinema, cinema and collector’s photography. It’s a new gate into the enchanted world of magic lanterns, folding cameras and 3D pictures of the stereoscope (a sort of Viewmaster) that brought joy to our great-grand parents. You’ll also marvel at the wonders of old kaleidoscopes.

One thing is certain: this new section will certainly attract many eager fans.

Besides toys and old cameras, in Brussels Kart Expo on October 2^nd, the visitors will be able to search for ‘old papers’, advertising items, enamel signs, perfume bottles and many more topics covered by the ‘Nostalgic Collection‘ section.

And after hungering for bargains or great finds, you will be able to enjoy the various products of two catering services without leaving the exhibition hall.

Nothing is more pleasant than stopping to enjoy good food for a few minutes before you dive back into the thousands of items on display and/or haggle over a sought-after piece you discovered only moments before. Given the diversity of the collections, there’s bound to be something for all purses.

The international Collect-Hit© Fair will take place on Sunday October 2^nd 2011 from 10 am to 3.30 pm at the Brussels Kart Expo, Alfons Gossetlaan, 11, in 1702 Groot-Bijgaarden (Belgium).
